The power of words

In this booklet, Hagin talks about the power of words. According to the Bible, WORDS destroy us or make us full of life, happiness, and health. Our words, the words we spoke yesterday, make life what it is today.

In Mark 11:23, Jesus said, "For verily I say unto you, that whoever shall SAY unto this mountain, Be though removed, and be though cast into the sea, and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he SAITH shall come to pass, he shall have whatever he SAITH."

He shall have whatsoever - THE WORDS - he speaks.

Hagin mentions that when he was healing himself from seemingly incurable health problems, it wasn't enough that he believed in his heart that he was healed, he realized that he also had to voice his belief, so he was repeating,

:I believe I receive healing for my deformed heart. I believe I receive healing for the incurable blood disease. I believe I receive healing for the paralysis. I believe I receive healing from the top of my head to the soles of my feet."

And within the hour, he was standing on his feet. What he doesn't mention in this booklet, but mentioned in his other books, that after he believed, and voiced his belief, nothing happened until he realized that he also had to demonstrate his faith - he had to act on that confession that he has already been healed.

However, this booklet is focused on the power of words, and he makes many good points. If you've ever listened to the sick person or the person who is suffering from some kind of lack, you can many times find out why they are sick and why they lack what they need by listening to how they speak about themselves and their needs. If they keep repeating "I don't have it ..." they're likely not going to have it.

Proverbs 12:18 says "... the tongue of the wise is health." You're not going to have health unless you talk health.

The Bible says "Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly". (Ps. 1:1) You do not want to think like the world thinks.

Verse 2 says, "And be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind." Do not think like the world. They think negatively.

If you want health, you should decide to talk health, and say something along the lines.

"I talk health. I believe in healing. I believe in health. "

Speak words that strengthen you.

Proverbs 18:21 says "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof."

Proverbs 21:23 "Whosoever keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles."

The words you speak identify you.
The words you speak set the boundaries of your life.

life and death are in the power of the tongue....and this little book packs a wallop. I have given this book to many people who used words casually and thoughtlessly. Not that I have arrived, but this book tells us we will be held accountable for every idle word we speak on the earth because our words have so much impact on the world around us. They are equivelant to gold and we can spend them on good works or evil intent. Blessings to you on your journey of becoming Christ like...love ,k

Poorly written, no editing, very tedious read

The author(s) appear to be non-native English speakers, and their word usage, punctuation, and grammar are atrocious. It appears that the book was not professionally edited, and the errors are myriad - making the book extremely difficult to read.

The author's style is terse and repetitive. Every function is described exactly the same way, English mistakes and all. It's as if a template was written first, and then the details for each function inserted. Reading the book is very tedious.

From a content perspective, I would categorize the book as a reference, not a beginner's guide. How to use each function is well covered, but there is very little on why. As a 2D CAD person trying to learn solid modeling the book will help, but only just barely. I cannot recommend the book to others.

Good value, covers lots of material, but the figures for the exercises are small and the dimensions are difficult to read (even with a magnifying glass).

Great Book

I teach SOLIDWORKS and have been using this book since last year. This is the best book that I have found for SOLIDWORKS. It is simple, clear, & easy to understand. Though not perfect, it is easy to follow and is also a great reference book. I liked the way this book is written, the step-by-step instructions and tutorials. The methods and techniques used in creating the models and assemblies are really impressive. A lot of commands and topics are covered which makes this book a must have for beginner and advanced users. I highly recommend this book to all students as well as working professionals. Great Book!

Beautiful but expensive

I found the Beowulf movie to be fun but disappointing, primarily because I felt like the deviations from the original story violated the spirit of what Beowulf represents. I've always been a big fan of not only Beowulf but all of the great European sagas. Even though I had serious reservations about the movie's plot, the imagery of the world they were trying to create was much more in line with the visions I have playing before my eyes when I read the sagas. I bought the DVD of the movie and in some of the special features they showed concept art that I thought was really incredible, so I decided to take a chance on this book. I was not disappointed.

The quality is top-notch, both the manufacturing and the art within. I loved reading about their design process and watching the world unfold, in fact it made me feel much better about the movie when I understood what they were shooting for (although my complaints about the plot still stand). The art itself is what really shines here, once I read the words I was done with them, but the art continues to inspire me every time I see it. I've been through the book many times and I've never gotten bored, and it's made a great coffee-table book for guests who are all impressed as well.

The main drawback is the price. The retail price is $40, which is far more than I would pay for a book of this kind. I've seen it on sale for a few different prices here on Amazon, and I was lucky enough to get an excellent deal when I bought it. If you like fantasy art and the old sagas, wait for a price you can handle and I think you'll be pleased.

Lots of Concept Art

[[VIDEOID:30752511]]There's a lot to read in this book. The movie script was written by Neil Gaiman. I didn't realize that until I read the foreword. The 160-page book was hard covered and came with a dust jacket.

Captions accompanied the paintings and concept art in the book, explaining the process of design and rational for creation. No storyboards were found in the book. The pages were devoted mainly to matte paintings for conceptualizing movie scenes.

This movie was completely made in 3D using motion caption techniques, similar to those used in Polar Express. The 3D models renders shown were few and far in between. The technology behind was only mentioned in passing.

Character design drawings were there, but somehow I felt that they were not enough. Angelina Jolie only had 4 rendered stills in this book, and all were head profiles. No near nude 3D model were seen anywhere.

This book is mainly for Beowulf fans and concept artists.

Designing the Vikings of Denmark in detail

This fine book takes you into the core of designing the Movie Beowulf. While the movie is only a medium level entertainment, this book is surprisingly better than the movie in showing the details of design, from Beowulf himself to the dragon he faces at the end of the movie. You will see the different designs of helmets, swords, sets and landscapes as well as concept art. It is an excellent find.

Almost any substitution you need! And more than one substitution is usually offered. They even tell you how many mini-marshmallows make up a large marshmallows; that's helpful. No one wants to buy marshmallow creme for one recipe calling for 1/2 cup...and then wonder what to do with the rest. Instead, make your own creme with marshmallows of any size and some corn syrup...Voila! I also like the boxes beside some ingredients, showing ounces, grams, cups, tablespoons. THAT is most helpful.

After having this book for two years, I still find it a great help, referring to it several times a month.

Every Kitchen Needs This

I am so glad I bought this! I'm astonished at the number of ingredient substitutions, for foods I've never even heard of. But what has been most useful has been lists of substitutions for things like whipping cream or certain beans. It's helping me use what I have at home and therefore save time (fewer trips to the store) and money (using what I already have, so it doesn't go bad, and also not having to spend more money on special ingredients). It's also helping me prepare more meals from scratch, because lacking one or two ingredients is no longer a deal-breaker. For someone like me, who is experienced in the kitchen but still learning how to be more fluid and flexible and "intuitive," a book like this is essential.

I bought a second copy to give to a friend whose son was just diagnosed with some unusual food allergies. This will help her be able to prepare meals that will help her son eat in common with the rest of the family, and she is so excited to have this book now.

Great Resource for Amateur or Experienced Cooks

I really enjoyed this book, even though like others stated, some of the items were so obscure I had never heard of them! LOL. Saying that, I would still recommend it highly for anyone who cooks. I mean who hasn't started cooking and realized they did not have an essential ingredient. I looked up several of my favorites items to see if any of the substitutions were feasible, most were. Each of the ingredients in their reference book includes a description of the item, i.e. Durum Flour: finely ground durum (high-gluten) wheat.

One of the features I liked about the book is that some of the listed ingredients, i.e. butter and all-purpose flour, include substitutions "To Vary the Flavor" or "For Better Health". Many of the substitutions also include info on how it might affect your recipe. For example, if you look up Butter, the "For Better Health" substitution states: 1/2 butter and 1/2 vegetable oil, best "for baking, especially quick breads and some cookie doughs: reduce baking time slightly; baked goods will be slightly more chewy; use pastry or cake flour for lighter texture..." This kind of info is just the thing to help make me a better cook.

The final sections include ingredient tables for common foods and include direction of what they are best suited (cooking, baking, eating). Other tables include ingredients with characteristics of each variety and what can be substituted within the categories (potatoes, beans, pears, apples, olives, legumes, lentils, mushrooms and more).

I definitely recommend this book for anyone who loves cook.

Sensual and passionate story

This is a sizzling hot erotic story that pairs up a gorgeous, older woman with a good looking, younger man. It starts out as an intensely passionate one night affair but then this amazing, deep relationship blossoms between them that takes things to a totally new level. What's interesting here is that the two characters are not given names, but are simply referred to as The Boy and The Woman. She's a best selling author and a cougar in every sense of the word. The Boy is only intended to be her delicious, firm bottomed boy for the evening, a toy she picked up at a book signing with one intention in mind. What happens between them is an exciting roller-coaster ride, for a time.

There's a surprising depth to the characters that isn't often seen with erotic novels. The Boy comes to the game with a lot of bitterness towards women his own age, and his story intrigues The Woman as she envisions using his experiences for a novel at a later date. As for The Woman, she's got pain of her own and The Boy only offers her a brief reprieve from it. As The Daughter later observes, she was meant for happiness but never reached out for it when it came her way. It's a deep and complex story, filled with passion and pain and personal growth that will pull your emotions in several directions, often at once. There's some surprising twists along the way that I didn't see coming either. Overall an excellent story about love and sex and finding your way in life.

Bold and Beautiful- thought provoking.

'The Women and The Boy'- how much of erotica read can one absorb and deal with or enjoy and up to what extent? There has to be some genuine amount of depth to the novel to keep you going. This is exactly where this amazing novel did wonders for me, it was simply an amazing, sensual, romantic and extremely erotic book with thought provoking and refreshing story line of romance and betrayal of a 40 year old appealing women and a handsome young boy of 18.
Author P M Thomas has proved himself as an amazing writer who is naturally blessed with the talent of bringing out burst of emotions in his readers by just keeping his write simple, straight forward, fast paced at the same time captivating and mesmerizing them by triggering the right string of heart, mind and soul with his very expressive dialog and thoughts used in the tale. Sudden twists in the story brings out the realistic and natural feelings of the human race, making it easy for readers to connect with the life-like characters.
'The Women and The Boy' not only entertains its readers from the very first page till the very end but also engages them to learn and absorb a thought- "if you've been hurt by a wound heal it. No wound can withstand the healing power of the human spirit."
I'd love to highly recommend this wonderful piece of talented write by author P M Thomas to all and esp. to mature readers. just read and cherish every bit of 'The Women and The Boy'.

Awesome!

I found this novel simply amazing: it will take your breath away until the last page of the book! I read it in one night as soos I downloaded it. Plot, dialogues, characters’ profiles and passion are intertwined to perfection in a series of twists that make you want to read more and more pages of the book.
I won’t spoil it: I don’t want to reveal the ending or tell you more than what you can read from the extract but I can say this is a very well done piece of literature and worth every penny. Good work! Absolutely recommended!

I have been using this book for 45 years, since I was 16yrs old. I carried it with me for years reading from it when I felt like I was losing my mind. Have recommended it to many many people. I recently purchased it for one of my children who is now having some anxiety problems. This book along with Recovery incorporated meetings can save your life.

About the Author
Yang Razali Kassim is a Senior Fellow at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore. Prior to joining RSIS, he was a senior journalist with the Singapore Press Holdings, serving as Regional Editor at The Business Times and before that, Principal Assistant to the Editor as well as Senior Correspondent, The Straits Times, including a stint as Jakarta Correspondent. He was also a recipient of a Pan-Asia Award in Journalism by Citibank. Trained in Political Science at the then University of Singapore (now the National University of Singapore), he was a Wolfson Press Fellow at Wolfson College, Cambridge University and a Visiting Fellow at the Lowy Institute, Sydney. At RSIS, he is also a Senior Fellow with the Centre for Non-Traditional Security (NTS) Studies where he researches on non-traditional security issues including the politics and diplomacy of climate change, human security, particularly in ASEAN, as it relates to socio-political transitions, internal and cross-border conflicts as well as state-civil society relations in Southeast Asia. As a journalist, he covered major ASEAN meetings of political, security and economic ministers as well as the summits of APEC (the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation), ASEM (the Asia-Europe Meeting) and the WTO (World Trade Organization).

A fun heartwarming read !

This is the epitome of a romantics dream novel. I absolutely am so happy with it and
read the entire thing while on a plane ride. Every little note and picture is obviously meant
to be there and is very cohesive with one another. It will warm your heart at times and make you
tear up during others. It's a must for a romantic at heart's collection!

Everything I Had Hoped!

I felt my own thoughts, fears, and hopes expressed by so many of the contributions in this book. I remember when Will Darbyshire posted the announcement of this project and thinking to myself what a brilliant idea it was. It rekindled my hopeful, romantic side and inspired me to write a few letters of my own.
